About Asturian
Asturian is a Romance language spoken in Asturias in northern Spain; closely related varieties are spoken in León and Zamora and, as Mirandese, in Portugal. Estimates suggest around 100,000 people speak it as a first language and a few hundred thousand understand it. It is protected by law in Asturias but not co-official, and UNESCO classes Asturian-Leonese as definitely endangered.
