About Catalan
Catalan is spoken in Catalonia, Valencia (where it is called Valencian), the Balearic Islands, Andorra, the Roussillon in France and the city of Alghero in Sardinia. About 10 million people speak it, roughly 4 million as a first language. It is the sole official language of Andorra and co-official in several Spanish regions.
