About Luxembourgish

Luxembourgish is the national language of Luxembourg and is also spoken in neighbouring border areas of Belgium, France and Germany. About 400,000 people speak it. It developed from a Moselle Franconian dialect, has been the national language by law since 1984, and passing a Luxembourgish test is required for naturalisation.
